The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the Cluster of Excellence “Center for Chiral Electronics” (CCE) with up to 64.5 million euros. The University of Regensburg has applied for the cluster together with Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) in Halle, Freie Universität Berlin and the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics in Halle. The cluster will start in January 2026 and initially run for seven years. The aim of the research collaboration is to develop innovative concepts for energy-efficient and high-performance electronics - based on the previously little-used property of chirality.
