Construction of the "Regensburg Center for Ultrafast Nanoscopy" has begun

During the next months, a new research building will be constructed at the University of Regensburg, the "Regensburg Center for Ultrafast Nanoscopy" - RUN. The aim of RUN is to directly observe and understand the ultrafast quantum motions of atoms and molecules in biological systems as well as in nanomaterials with novel ultrahigh-resolution slow-motion cameras and to use them for future bio- and quantum technologies. Within the help of RUN it should be possible in the future to represent and understand this nanocosmos of animate and inanimate nature in detail. Scientists from the departments of Biology and Preclinical Medicine, Chemistry and Pharmacy, and Physics at the University of Regensburg will work together to achieve a multidisciplinary understanding of biologically, chemically, and physically relevant ultrafast atomic dynamics.
