Isabella Gierz receives ERC Starting Grant

The European Research Council (ERC) supports the research project "Dynamical Band Structure Engineering" (DANCE) of Regensburg physicist and CRC member Isabella Gierz with an ERC Starting Grant. The project will receive funding of up to 1.5 million euros over a period of five years. The aim of DANCE is to develop new methods to control the electronic properties of a material on ultrashort time scales (femtoseconds to picoseconds). Also Dr. Rostislav Mikhaylovskiy receives an ERC Starting Grant for his project "Shaken and stirred: Terahertz electric field control of magnetism". His application was supported by Rupert Huber.
